Pool Vacuums

Pool vacuums are used to clean the bottom and side surfaces of a swimming pool. They can be purchased in manual or automatic versions. They work essentially like a typical vacuum cleaner.

Pool vacuums often have a brush attachment that scrapes the surface, loosening any algae or other contaminants that might be there. A pump is then used to create suction, which vacuums up the resulting debris. Most experts highly recommend using these devices on a regular basis.

As previously mentioned, these pool vacuums can be manually operated or can do the job automatically. Most pool owners opt for the automatic variety for the sake of convenience. However, manually operated versions, while time consuming, often do a better job.
